George Willetts brings more than four decades of competitive racing experience and deep roots in the cycling community. A North Carolina BMX State Campion in the early 1980s, George began his racing career in BMX before transitioning to mountain biking in 1987. Over the years, he has competed across multiple disciplines including BMX, mountain biking, biathlons, and motorcycle racing, forming lifelong friendships and relationships through racing nationwide.
In 1997 he helped promote a UCI World Cup Downhill event at Massanutten Ski Resort in Virginia. Beyond that sin World Cup year, George played a central role in the Massanutten race series, which ran successfully for 18 years, contributing significantly to the growth of competitive mountain biking in the region.
In 2000, representing Cane Creek bicycle Components, George won the 24 Hours of Snowshoe in West Virginia as part of a pro duo team. Two week later, he captured the 30-34 Cat 1 XC victory Mount Snow, Vermont, qualifying directly for the USA Masters National Team.
After a downhill racing mishap, George shifted his competitive focus to dirt bike racing, fulfilling the aspirations that began during his BMX days in the 1980s.
Today, he continues to race electric bicycles and motorcycles across the East Coast.
In 2026, George proudly joins the Lupine Victory Team, continuing a longstanding friendship and industry relationship built on loyalty, performance, and a shared passion for the sport.
